Since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, our organization has been helping those who had lost their jobs or were otherwise financially affected during the crisis. It distributed tens of thousands of hot meals and food baskets to families, and helped the "transparent" populations, including single mothers, women taking refuge in battered women's shelters, defectors from Orthodox Judaism and support centers for women and youth involved in prostitution.
Food packages for families
Hearty, nutritious food baskets are distributed to needy families in the south Tel Aviv area who are struggling to make ends meet. The baskets are distributed twice a month by volunteers, who deliver them to the families' doorsteps. We try to make it easier for families coping with financial hardship get by from day to day and improve their wellbeing.
Victory in Europe Day
Every year, in May, we join Holocaust survivors to celebrate Victory in Europe Day at Beit Orenstein, in Kiryat Ono, a structure built in the 1990s to house Holocaust survivors, courtesy of Henry Orenstein’s generous financial support.
